How Can You Stay Lean During The Holiday?
How can you stay lean during the holiday?
It’s the time of the year when people on average gain 5 to 10 pounds. It’s a perfect time to treat yourself with gusto without thinking about the extra pounds. Everything depends on you. Some people opt to wait for the month of January to start a fresh exercise program, but others do keep a constant eye on their food intake and speed up cardio exercises to maintain balance.
Restoring your ahead of time is a plus reason in order to be fit when the first month of the year comes in. It is best to plan out a program that will help shed those extra holiday weight gain.
1) Start Training Today: Exercise is the first thing to go when people get busy, and the holiday season is notorious for empty gyms. This year do something different and go to the gym or join a gym. There are quite a number of things to do to establish your exercise.
Get a personal coach - By hiring a personal trainer this will get you back on track. A good trainer will establish two important principals: accountability and awareness. He will also establish a fitness program that will get you on track.
Enroll in a cardio program - Try discovering a cardio training that is enjoyable. Kick boxing,
sports, or spinning is a great way to burn calories.
Tag a buddy with you - Enthusiasm is hard when beginning a new routine. One way around this issue is to have someone you can be accountable to like a friend who is also committed to losing body fat. Make sure that your friend is motivated, positive, and has similar goals.
Get your family involved - Support is the most important aspect to sticking to a fitness and nutritional program. Involve your family members in the exercise. This way you can support each other to reach a specified goal.
2) Controlling oneself is the answer - Do not treat yourself with too much. It will be your first perennial dilemma on January. Go ahead and have what you want on Thanksgiving and Christmas but don’t stuff yourself so full that you feel sick.
Opt to have the vegetables and lean animal protein before eating heavy stuff. Always drink water with every food intake and minimize the drinking of alcoholic beverages. Keep a close watch on the drinks that you take, most of them are full of calories. Some familiar drinks that are known to have too much calories are the drinks from Starbucks, the cocktails at parties and others as well. If you cannot resist these drinks, try speeding up your cardio routine the next day.
You are in control of your life and your waist line. Today is the chance to modify your lifestyle. The key is your mindset. Indulgence on food during the holidays is the perfect excuse for most people to stay away from exercise routine. This is fine if you don’t mind entering 2009 a few pounds heavier, a little less healthy, and with lower energy than ever before.
